Why We Sell Our Mowers After 3 Years
And Why You Might Want to Buy One
At Fresh Cut, we run Wright Stander commercial mowers—36" and 52", both with Kawasaki engines. These aren’t homeowner toys. These are the same machines that knock out hundreds of lawns every year, maintained like aircraft, then sold off before they become a problem.
What We Run: 36" & 52" Wright Standers
We don’t mess with seated zero turns. We run standers only—they’re faster, more maneuverable, and better for our clients' properties.
-
52" Wright Stander X – Kawasaki FX691V, 22HP (give or take)
-
36" Wright Stander Intensity – Kawasaki FS600V, 18.5HP
-
Push mowers, trimmers, blowers also come up for sale each winter.
Why We Sell at the 3-Year Mark
Three years is our cutoff. Not because the mower’s failing—because it’s the smart window to sell.
After year three, parts start wearing faster, repairs hit harder, and resale value starts dropping. So we flip while they’re still in good shape and worth real money. That’s smart fleet rotation, not laziness.
Maintained Like a Dealership, Not a Dirt Lot
Every single mower we sell has been:
-
Cleaned and winterized off-season (yes, just like Russo or Martin would)
-
Serviced based on OEM manual intervals (not “when it sounds bad”)
-
Tracked inside a full CMMS system (Limbal) that logs:
-
Oil changes
-
Belt and blade swaps
-
Hydro service
-
Visual inspections
-
PMs based on both hours and calendar date
-
We’ve got digital service records dating back to early 2024. Most guys selling mowers can’t even tell you when they last changed the oil.
Parts In Stock, Not on Backorder
We don’t wait until something breaks. Our parts shelf is loaded:
-
Belts
- Blades
- Caps
- Spindles
- Air filters, etc.
We track usage trends in our system. If we used 10 spindles in 6 months, we restock 10. This keeps our fleet running—and the mowers we sell come from that same system.
Who Should Buy Our Used Mowers?
🛠 Ideal Buyer: A Contractor or Solo Operator
If you know your way around small engine maintenance, this is a steal. You’re getting a pro-grade mower that’s seen regular use but never abuse.
🏡 Homeowners Welcome, Too
Got a decent-sized yard? These run circles around the junk sold at big box stores. If you’re thinking about a tractor, we’d take a Wright Stander over that all day.
What They Sell For
Here’s the breakdown:
Equipment | Typical New Price | Fresh Cut Resale | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
52" Stander | $9,500 | $6,000–$7,000 | Clean, ready to run |
36" Stander | $8,000 | $5,000–$6,000 | Great for gated properties |
Blowers/Trimmers | $300–$500 | $100–$300 | Based on hours |
Where to Find Our Mowers
We list everything on Facebook Marketplace ahead of the spring season. These machines don’t sit long—our resale is mostly word of mouth at this point.
Once you see that red SOLD sticker, it’s gone.
